IAA 2013 international motor show Fri, 24 Mar 2017 16:02:31 +0200 http://www.valeo.com.tr/journalistes/actualite/iaa-2013-international-motor-show-1827.html http://www.valeo.com.tr/journalistes/actualite/iaa-2013-international-motor-show-1827.html Frankfurt, Germany, September 10, 2013 – At the upcoming International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, Valeo will be unveiling new technologies designed to make the vehicles of the future cleaner, more intelligent and more intuitive. Thanks to sustained investment in Research and Development, representing a total of €1 billion in 2012, Valeo will be presenting the main innovations that will support its development in the coming years, including:

  • Valet Park4U®: Unveiled for the first time at IAA, this innovation transforms vehicles into their own automatic valet. Valet Park4U® allows drivers to leave their car at the entrance of a car park and let the car find a suitable space to park itself. Drivers activate the fully automatic parking feature remotely using their smartphone. Similarly, they can use their smartphone to be picked up at the exit.
  • The smartphone-compatible smart key: This passive entry passive start technology can be operated from a smartphone. Drivers can leave their car key in their pocket or even at home, and use instead their smartphone to unlock, lock and start their vehicle.
  • The cabin filter with anti-allergen properties: In a European first, Valeo has developed a filter that limits the concentration of allergens inside the vehicle when air is continuously filtered. The system traps not only dust, harmful gases and odors, but also neutralizes allergenic pollen. Until now, no cabin filter in Europe was able to limit passengers’ exposure to allergenic particulates.

  • The electric supercharger: Valeo is the first automotive supplier to offer its customers an electric supercharger that improves throttle response from small engines at low rpms to boost their performance. As a replacement of or in complement to traditional turbochargers, this solution also increases driving comfort in that in-gear acceleration improves by 27% without increasing fuel consumption. When coupled with a Valeo energy recovery system, electric superchargers can deliver fuel savings of up to 20%.
  • Air Intake Module:  This new air intake architecture enhances the efficiency of the air/fuel mixture drawn into the engine, paving the way for cleaner, more compact engines. This system helps cut both fuel consumption and toxic particulate emissions. In 2013, Valeo won two Automotive News PACE (Premier Automotive SuppliersContribution to Excellence) Awards for this innovation, which is integrated in Volkswagen’s modular diesel engine platform.
  • BeamAtic® PremiumLED: This glare-free 100%-LED smart lighting system allows drivers to keep their high beams on in all circumstances without ever blinding other motorists. Already series produced in its xenon version for the new Volkswagen Golf 7, BeamAtic® Premium technology delivers all the benefits of LED lighting. These include reduced electric consumption, a working life that is considerably longer than that of the vehicle, lighting that is nearly the color of sunlight and design flexibility.

Leveraging its global footprint, Valeo partners car manufacturers in their markets worldwide. Its aim is to create systems that reduce CO2 emissions and energy consumption, while at the same time enhancing driving pleasure in all vehicle categories. Innovative products and systems consequently account for more than 30% of order intake each year.

Valeo presents its latest innovations at Auto Shanghai 2013 in China Fri, 24 Mar 2017 16:02:31 +0200 http://www.valeo.com.tr/journalistes/actualite/valeo-presents-its-latest-innovations-at-auto-shanghai-2013-in-china-1794.html http://www.valeo.com.tr/journalistes/actualite/valeo-presents-its-latest-innovations-at-auto-shanghai-2013-in-china-1794.html
  • AquaBlade®: a revolutionary wiper system for optimum visibility. Valeo has metamorphosed windshield cleaning by doing away with the nozzles that spray the wash liquid. Fitted with a fluid distribution channel, AquaBlade® distributes the liquid through a multitude of holes along the blade itself. The volume of windshield wash liquid needed has as a result been halved, cutting 2 kg off the system’s weight. By wiping the liquid away immediately, AquaBlade® maintains a clear view for the driver thereby improving safety.
    • Smart key: hands-free car opening and startup. The “smart key” locks and unlocks the vehicle automatically, without having to get the key out of your bag or pocket. Similarly, when the key is detected inside the car, the engine is started simply by pushing the “Start” button. The smart key will be fitted to upcoming vehicles delivered by two Chinese manufactures in 2013.
    • Park4U® Remote: a fully automatic park assist system. This solution guides the vehicle into its parking space without any driver input. It can be triggered from inside the vehicle, or from outside using a smartphone, but under the control of driver who can deactivate the maneuver at any time.
    • BiLED™: the 100% LED headlamp technology developed by Valeo. In low-beam, the electric power consumed by this all-LED headlamp is just 26 watts. The light yield of LEDs makes them the most efficient source of light for automobiles, for an equivalent amount of light. Valeo’s 100% LED headlamps are already used on the new Ford Mondeo in Europe and the Lincoln MKZ in the United States.
    • From the “i StARS” automated Stop-Start function to the “Hybrid4all”: a choice of technology to reduce fuel consumption. The automated Stop-Start function (that automatically cuts the engine when the vehicle is stopped) provides fuel savings of around 6%. Valeo has gone one step further with the “Hybrid4all”, a hybrid that costs half as much as the existing solutions on the market, making it accessible to all vehicles whatever their size or range (segments A, B and C). This technology combines the Stop-Start function, regenerative braking and torque assist functions. This system reduces fuel consumption by up to 15%.
    • Electric Supercharger: technology to boost small combustion engines. This technology increases the performance of downsized gasoline or diesel turbocharged engines without any loss of power, even at low speed, thanks to the air injected into the engine. This electric supercharger reduces vehicle fuel consumption by up to 10%.
    • Air Intake Module: a new air intake architecture for smaller and less polluting engines. Air plays an essential role in the operation of an internal combustion engine. By increasing the effectiveness of the air-fuel mix delivered to the engine, the Air Intake Module paves the way for smaller and less polluting turbocharged engines. The Air Intake Module has been integrated since June 2012 in Volkswagen’s modular platform for diesel engines used on the Golf and Audi A3.

Valeo has been present in China since 1994 where it has 12,000 employees working at 22 production sites and in 9 development centers.

Valeo releases first passenger compartment air conditioning filter with anti-allergenic properties in Europe Fri, 24 Mar 2017 16:02:31 +0200 http://www.valeo.com.tr/journalistes/actualite/valeo-releases-first-passenger-compartment-air-conditioning-filter-with-anti-allergenic-properties-in-europe-1713.html http://www.valeo.com.tr/journalistes/actualite/valeo-releases-first-passenger-compartment-air-conditioning-filter-with-anti-allergenic-properties-in-europe-1713.html
In industrialized countries, the number of people suffering from pollen allergies has doubled in the past 30 years. By 2040, 40% of the European population will have an allergic predisposition.

Until now, no passenger compartment air conditioning filter in Europe was able to limit passengers’ exposure to allergen particles. And yet, the probability of allergy suffers being involved in a traffic accident is 30% higher. The symptoms of these allergies (sneezing, itching, watery eyes, runny nose, breathing difficulties, fatigue, irritability and headaches) are not just a source of discomfort; they can also significantly impair driver concentration. Improving vehicle interior air quality can also help improve road safety: when travelling at 80 km/h, a driver will cover 25 meters with his or her eyes closed when sneezing.

This filter is designed for all drivers and their passengers, whatever their sensitivity to allergens. Patented by Valeo, this innovation will be released on the market in Europe in early 2013.

Valeo Presents Six Major Innovations at the Paris Motor Show Fri, 24 Mar 2017 16:02:31 +0200 http://www.valeo.com.tr/journalistes/actualite/valeo-presents-six-major-innovations-at-the-paris-motor-show-1369.html http://www.valeo.com.tr/journalistes/actualite/valeo-presents-six-major-innovations-at-the-paris-motor-show-1369.html Paris, September 28, 2012 – As one of the world’s top automotive suppliers, Valeo is focusing its research and development on designing technologies  to reduce carbon emissions on the vehicles of tomorrow. The company ranks among the leading patent filers in France, dedicating nearly 9% of its original equipment revenue to R&D. In coming years, the six technologies presented below will enable Valeo to consolidate its position as a leader in automotive innovation.

    • Hybrid4All: Valeo’s hybrid technology makes it possible, for the first time, to offer hybrid powertrains on any vehicle and, more specifically, on entry-level models. By combining the Stop-Start function, regenerative braking and torque assist, Hybrid4all can deliver fuel savings of up to 15%.
    • BiLED™ projector: This technology features on the full LED headlamps developed by Valeo for the new Ford Mondeo, which is making its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show. Equipped with a shatter resistant plastic lens, the module enables the headlamps to switch instantly from low to high beam. In addition, power use in the low beam position is just 26 watts. The BiLED™ module will be fitted on other automakers’ premium and mass market vehicles in the near future.
    • AquaBlade®: Valeo has revolutionized the windshield cleaning process by developing a system in which washer fluid is no longer sprayed through nozzles, but is delivered directly to the wiper blade itself via integrated tubes to tiny holes along its entire length. This halves the amount of washer fluid required, reducing the system’s weight by two kilograms. Since the fluid is wiped away as soon as it is deposited on the windshield, the AquaBlade® system also significantly improves driver visibility and  thus increases safety.
    • A new multifunction control panel: Valeo has introduced a new  tactile  control panel on the BMW 1 and 3 Series, representing  a first on these lines. The panel controls the heating and air conditioning system, while providing a preview of direct access buttons. The lightest of touches activates the screen and enables motorists to  choose their favorite  multimedia applications simply by pressing the corresponding  button.
    • Electric supercharger: Valeo is the first automotive supplier to offer its customers a  range of electric superchargers, which improve throttle response from small engines at low  RPMs. When coupled with a Valeo energy recovery system, electric superchargers can deliver fuel savings of up to 20%.
    • Air Intake Module: This new air intake architecture for diesel and gasoline engines improves the air/fuel mixture drawn into the engine,  enhancing the efficiency and performance of the cooling system  and opening the way for cleaner, more compact turbo engines. It has been selected for Volkswagen’s new diesel engine platform.

Two Valeo technologies to equip mass-market Renault Scenic and Mégane vehicles Fri, 24 Mar 2017 16:02:31 +0200 http://www.valeo.com.tr/journalistes/actualite/two-valeo-technologies-to-equip-mass-market-renault-scenic-and-megane-vehicles-1448.html http://www.valeo.com.tr/journalistes/actualite/two-valeo-technologies-to-equip-mass-market-renault-scenic-and-megane-vehicles-1448.html
These applications are embedded in the Valeo multifunctional camera, located between the windshield and the rearview mirror.

The BeamAticTM lighting automation system takes over the lighting commands to optimize the use of high beam. It switches back to low beam as soon as an oncoming or leading car is detected by the embedded camera. The system alleviates the stress of constantly switching the headlamps on and off, thus improving nighttime driving comfort and safety.

The LaneVue™ detection system alerts the driver if the vehicle drifts into the adjacent lane. The front camera detects the lane markings on the road, and compares them with the vehicle's trajectory. If the vehicle drifts into the adjacent lane without having activated the turn indicator, LaneVue™ immediately alerts the driver through sound and visual signals. This application may anticipate critical situations, e.g. in the event of driver drowsiness or lack of attention.

With these two applications, which combine innovative vision technologies and software developments, Valeo is making leading-edge driving assistance functions available to the widest possible markets.
